Five Ways to Support Local Farms by Enjoying Fresh Farm Produce Year-Round

  1. Stop by one of the farmers markets. There you'll meet the hardworking people who planted the seeds, weeded the rows, and harvested basket after basket of delicious vegetables, fruits, herbs and more.
  2. Join the growing number of people who purchase a "share" in a Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) (linked to "What is Community Supported Agriculture", under "Marketing Resources" in fact sheet section of webpage) farm, and in return receive a regular delivery of produce throughout the growing season.
  3. Whenever possible, purchase grown-in-Washington foods at your grocery store. Encourage your grocer to support the "From the Heart of Washington" program by stocking more Washington-grown foods.
  4. Pack up the family one weekend and visit one of the many u-pick operations to harvest your own in-season fruits and vegetables.
  5. Eat at restaurants that feature local produce on the menu.
